In the Shining of the Stars is an XXL triptych alive with energy and mystery. Layers of flickering colour — reds, golds, blues, and whites — dance across three tall canvases, echoing the infinite rhythms of the cosmos. Splashes and trails of paint weave into a universe of motion and light.

A hidden secret is revealed after dark: photo-luminescent crystals absorb daylight and release a long-lasting, ambient radiance. By day the work shimmers with vibrant colour; by night it glows with a quiet, star-like presence. This is the fourth painting in the artist’s glow series — a bold centrepiece that transforms with the passing of time.

An original action art painting (but in my own style without so much emphasis on the “action”) that involves the deliberate application of considered sweeping brushstrokes and the wonderful accidental effects that occur from the gradual build up of dripping and pouring paint onto the canvas.

Original art by Kris Mercer paying tribute to Jackson Pollock’s action paintings with new materials. Paint and inks mixed with acrylic mediums and varnish is dripped and poured onto the canvas.
